The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-week 16 preview and all that transpired this weekend in the all exciting topflight league.

After Match week-16, Hearts of Lions are still holding on to their league leader’s position even though they lost which has enabled Bibiani Gold Stars to be on leveled points, which is 30 points and are being separated by the goal difference rule.

Third placed side Nations FC have 29 points same as forth place Bechem United whiles Accra Hearts of Oak is in a deficit of one point which is keeping them on the fifth position same as Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who are on the sixth position.

In descending order, Medeama, Samartex, Berekum Chelsea, Vision FC, Holy Stars, Aduana Stars, Young Apostles, Dreams FC, Nsoatreman, and Karela, Accra Lions plus Legon Cities are the three teams occupying the relegation spot after match-week 16.

Top Scorers after match-week 16:

Francis Charwetey of Nations FC stands tall with nine goals, Asante Kotoko‘s Amoah has seven goals, Hearts of Lions’ Oppong and Tweneboah of Basake Holy Stars share six goals each.

Statistics in match-week 16:

An aggregate of seventeen goals were recorded in match week-16; out of the nine fixtured games, seven wins were recorded for the home teams, one draw and one away win transpired which was Samartex picking up a one goal win over ten men Aduana Stars.
