The 2026 FIFA World Cup might juts be missing another promising defender – Nico Schlotterbeck has been axed out of the German team after sustaining an injury during Germany’s game against Ivory Coast.
Sadly, Borussia Dortmund’s versatile defender will have to return back to Germany to initiate immediate injury treatment after tearing his ligament in the left ankle.
Today, the German team doctors after assessing Schlotterbeck confirmed – adding that, he will need a little over eight weeks, which is more than two months in order to regain full match fitness.
Now, Germany’s World Cup ambitions are still valid after they caused an attacking Ivory Coast team to stumble in a 2-1 defeat to secure a deserving spot in the round of thirty-two.
