Exclusive: Real Madrid steps-up their pace in their quest for Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid’s interest to secure the services of Liverpool’s right offensive full-back, Trent Alexander Arnold in the summer won’t be out of place as player’s contract is set to run-out in June 2025.

Liverpool FC are on the verge of loosing out on the race to further cement their preferred right back, Trent Alexander Arnold as player’s contract extension negotiation have hit bottom rock and Spanish LaLiga giants, Real Madrid are seeking to snatch Trent for a free transfer deal.

Now, English and Liverpool star, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been very reluctant in signing his contract extension deal as his available contract binding him to the Mersyside club is set to be exhausted at the end of the 2025 campaign.

Therefore, this current situation involving Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold has signaled the Los Blancos of Spanish football to poach the right back into their squad as the veteran Dani Carjaval is ageing and is currently out of the team due to injury.

That not withstanding, the “you’ll never walk alone” team have informed Real Madrid of their stance with respect to the unavailability of their player, Trent Alexander-Arnold as per reports by The Times in the current January transfer market whiles the club is working out a suitable contract extension deal to be signed by Trent.

Meanwhile, on December 14, 2024, Trent Alexander-Arnold in an interview with a British based club had signaled his interest of not exiting the club any-time-soon, “I have been at the club 20 years now and I have signed four or five contract extensions… and none of those have been played out in public. This one won’t be either.”

However, Real Madrid have shown keen interest as the club deem Trent as the perfect replacement of the Spanish veteran right back, Dani Carvajal who inked another one year contract extension for the club last year.

Real Madrid as of now have not initiated an official possible transfer talks with Liverpool yet, are only monitoring Trent’s contract extension situation at with his club since Liverpool have not signaled any desire to auction their player at this stage.
