FC Barcelona news: “It’s not my job” – Hansi Flick reacts to Dani Olmo’s registration crisis

Hansi Flick has responded to calls regarding FC Barcelona’s inability to register Dani Olmo for the rest of the season.

The Spanish LaLiga on December 31, 2024 had rejected FC Barcelona’s appeal to secure the necessary permits in order to fully register Dani Olmo as they indicated that, The Spanish giants have failed to clear their financial books in order to accommodate Olmo.

Barcelona have not presented any alternative that would allow the registration, in accordance with La-Liga’s economic control regulations, to register any player from January 2nd,” LaLiga ruled.

Following such ruling given by LaLiga, FC Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick in today’s press conference iterated that, he is not delighted with Dani Olmo’s registration situation but he is confident the player would be registered.

“Honestly, I am not happy about the situation, and players are not either – but it is what it is. We are professionals. The confidence is there. We have to wait for the decision. It’s not my job. I spoke with the resident Laporta today and I have confidence in the club. They do their job, I do mine,” Hansi Filck said.

He further asserted that, he has no iota of doubt in FC Barcelona as he believes the club would surely succeed, “my view has not changed. I am in love with this club and this city. The mentality in the squad is very good. There is a very good atmosphere. We love working here.”

Why Dani Olmo won’t exit FC Barcelona amidst registration crisis:

Meanwhile, in as much as Dani Olmo has the opportunity to exit the club on a free transfer, his agent, Andy Bara has reveal that, Olmo would not join any other club in this transfer window as the have confidence that FC Barcelona president, Juan Laporta and the club’s director, Deco would find suitable solutions for his player to compete in games.

“We respect the president Laporta and Deco. They did big effort to bring in Dani last summer. We like their project, it’s a big one for the future, one of the best in the world in the next years. We fully believe Barca will win all the titles in the future like they did during the Messi era. The player, the family, me… we all wanted Dani to be at Barca.’

Andy Bara added that, “big money in case of free transfer? Of course the best deals are when players are free… But the emotions also matter. We never made any career decision for money. Dani Plays football as he loves the game, he did massive effort to be at Barca. I’m also happy to have Dani at Barca, one of the best players in the world at one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
