FC Porto have reached an agreement with Brazilian center-back Thiago Silva on a short term deal.
41-year-old central defender, Thiago Silva has returned to European football after bagging a deal from Portuguese top-flight side, FC Porto.
This astonishing agreement between Thiago Silva and FC Porto stems from the player’s quest to regain his spot in the Brazilian national team ahead of the FIFA World scheduled to take place in June, 2026.
Thiago Silva has been out of action for the Brazil national for the past couple of years as coaches of the national team have are of the believe that, the player is in the twilight of his career in as much as he is still playing club football.
The former Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, and Chelsea defender as been out of European football in the last three season however, he has been in action for Fluminese, a club in the top division of the Brazilian League.
Further, the back-drop conversations from the camp of FC Porto suggested that, Thiago Silva still has a lot to offer to game whiles they took a clue from his astounding performance for his club Fluminese in the FIFA Club World.
Today, Thiago Silva after exhausting his contract with Fluminese has now penciled a deal with FC Porto which will run up until June 2026 however, the Portuguese club would not hesitate to extend the veteran defender’s contract should he perform to the coaching staff’s satisfaction.
