FIFA 2026 World Cup: Ghana wrestles a convincing win from Madagascar in a 0:3 result

Madagascar overwhelmed with the quality of talent possessed by Ghana in the World Cup qualifying game tonight. 

At the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in Morocco today, March 24, 2025, Madagascar could not catch their breath as they were striving to find their feet in their World Cup qualifying game against the Black Stars of Ghana.

After Ghana slipped in booking a spot in the forthcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place later this year, have picked up the pieces as they completely dismantled the second placed team in their group in order to extend their lead as the leaders of Group I.

The game which had garnered a lot of significance so long as the automatic qualification slot into the World Cup was concerned, Ghana had been in a bad patch of form prior to the game hence, were seeking to redeem their lost glory coupled with making another bold claim of positioning themselves well in the group as a team deem fit to secure automatic qualification.

That not withstanding, Madagascar were also approaching the game as a side who had nothing to loose hence, set to unleash all their quality arsenals at their disposal in order to make history for themselves.

Now, the three deciding factors of the game of football, which is a win loose or draw prevailed and it was a resounding victory for the visiting side, Ghana Black Stars who were not in any bargaining position for any other result on the night rather than a win.

After the initiation of the game by the referee, the Black Stars were not in any mood of relenting and handing over any form of believe to the home side as the substantive captain, Jordan Ayew delivered a pinpoint cross to his assistant captain, Thomas Partey provide his side the first goal of the night.

Aftermath of the goal in the first fifteen minutes saw the Madagascar team seeking to keep their calmness while they possessed the ball around in order not to concede again in their quest to get back into the game. That seemed to work for them since it was enough to keep them in the game until half-time.

Nine minutes into the second half, Thomas Partey did not hesitate to increase the lead for the Black Stars by making a a sublime pass from Jordan Ayew on the second occasion count.

On the fifty-ninth minute, Jordan Ayew once again found Mohammed Kudus with another amazing pass which was buried with intelligence by the star boy of the team. After the third goal, little or no efforts at goal was made by the Black Stars however, Madagascar were on the offense but their efforts were dealt with by the safe pair of hands of the Blac Stars, Benjamin Asare.

Presently, the win by Ghana makes them the leaders of Group I with fifteen points whiles, Madagascar with same number of games played by Ghana in the group have ten points, making them the second placed team. Plus, Mali just nine points points as well meanwhile, Comoros have nine points same as Mali but have a game in hand. The automatic qualification in Group I is now solely in the hands of Ghana.
