The Tunisian Football Federation after appointing Herve Renard halfway into the FIFA 2026 World Cup will be parting ways with the French coach for failing to achieve targets.
For the uninitiated, Herve Renard was appointed by Tunisia to take over the coaching responsibilities after the football federation had axed their substantive head coach Sabri Lamouchi for failing to bring the best out of the team in their first group game against Sweden.
With two group games remaining, the lights of hoping to qualifying into the round of thirty-two was deeming hence, an impromptu decision to employ former African Cup of nations winner Herve Renard was made.
On a contract base on clauses which demanded that, Renard’s prowess should come to bear for the Tunisian team to manage to secure at least a deserving qualification spot into the next stage.
Yesterday, Tunisia were in action as they were completely humbled by Asian side Japan, ending the game by conceding four unanswered goals – in effect, shutting all doors on booking qualification into the next stage.
After the game, reports from major media outlets in Tunisia are indicating that, Herve Renard will not be in charge of the team after he supervise the Carthage Eagles in their last group game against Netherlands.
