Ghana Premier League giant, Accra Hearts of Oak has added to their failure of amassing all three points against Aduana Stars FC in an aggressively competitive game of football at their home stadium.
On the match day five Ghana Premier League fixture between Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars served the footballing fans with nothing short of two sides, who are in desperate need of glory in order to stand a chance to clinch on to the league title.
However, both teams fell as second best teams on the night as the failed to capitalize on the weaknesses of their opponent and yet had to settle for a point each which is not enough to correct their current standings on the league table.
In that vein, both teams at the blast of the whistle by the center referee, Abdul Latif quickly began to display their attacking prowess which was coupled with intense and aggressive act of career ending tackles hence, after the first 45 minutes of the game, three players, two from Aduana stars, Sackey and Amoako were both shown yellow cards on the 22nd and 39th minute respectively while one Hearts of Oak player, Boateng Afriyie was also booked for a yellow on the 35th minute.
Further, while the virginity of the game was still intact at the inception of the second half, Accra Hearts of Oak’s Mohammed went into a tackle which earned him a yellow card after exactly seven minutes into the second half. Five minutes later, Sackey who had already been shown a yellow card in the first half did not hesitate to go into another unnecessary tackle which was deemed as a bookable offence by the referee and hence, was sent off to give a numerical advantage of players on the field to the home team.
However, some way somehow, Aduana Stars manage to stake a claim in the game as they even enjoyed more possession of the ball than Accra Hearts of Oak. The game ended in a 0:0 score line, points shared among the two sides.
Accra Hearts of Oak after five matches played can boast of five points and are currently on the 11 position while Aduana Stars also after five games have 3 points and are the 17th best club out of 18th premier league teams after match day five.
