Hearts of Oak’s former Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Harry Zakour has communicated the amount of money each player received after their historic triumph in the 2000-CAF Champions League campaign.
In a recent interview hosted by Sporty FM, the former Hearts of Oak C.E.O Mr.Harry Zakour did not hold back his thoughts as he revealed that, his administration spent a sum-total of USD180,000 on all 18-players who participated in the CAF Champions League success.
The former club administrator asserted that, Hearts of Oak in their 2000 treble winning season could not afford not reward the playing as they were being threatened by the team of a possible boycott.
“We gave them (playing body) USD$100,000 each, at that time. Jacob Nartey, all of them, Since we couldn’t go to the FIFA Club World Cup, but we got USD$3,000,000and rarely, we shared the money.
“And we gave everybody USD$100,000 to all the players, 18-players.” He was further quizzed on claims, which suggest that not every player had received the money, “They should come forward and tell me – when they approach and say it…,” Mr Harry Zakour stated.
