Karim Benzema has disclosed his opinion with the position best fit for Kylian Mbappe to thrive at Real Madrid.
The former Lyon and Real Madrid, Karim Mustafa Benzema in an interview with El-Chiringuito TV, a media house based in Spain asserted that, his fellow country man, Kylian Mbappe does seem to be struggling ever since he joined the white angels of Spanish football, Real Madrid FC.
Following his unimpressive performances since he joined Real Madrid in the summer as free agent from Paris Saint Germain, Karim Benzema has iterated that, as a former French national teammate, Kylian Mbappe does posses the qualities of a proper center forward but has all it takes to succeed as a left winger, “For me, Mbappe is not a number 9 (center forward). He is a left winger.”
karim Benzema frther added that, in Real Madrid’s set-up, Vinicius Jr has cemented his position as arguably the best left winger in the world therefore, Kylian Mbappe can not occupy that position, “but the problem is that, at left wing, there is Vinicius Jr who is the best in the world.”
The Al-Ittihad center forward, Benzema when quizzed regarding the general performance and out puts Kylian Mbappe has produced since joining Real Madrid, “Mbappe knows that there is a lot of pressure at Real Madrid.
“At Madrid, when you go 2,3 matches without goals, they will kill you. You can win the Ballon D’Or and you do not score in 3 matches after it, the same…,” Benzema added.
Meanwhile, the veteran center forward, Karim Mustafa Benzema currently plays in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ittihad, a club he joined last two seasons. However, he has not seen much playing due to injuries; he has began this 2024/25 season with more confidence he personally deems this new campaign as a redemption year since he joined the club from Real Madrid FC.
