Post-Match Press Conference: Briefings Of Mikel Arteta’s Opinion On Saka And Havertz’s Performance

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal FC after succeeding in escaping another shock of a possible defeat from another newly promoted side, Southampton as they secured a 3:1 win after they conceded the first goal on the 10th minute of the second half.

The Saints failed to protect their lead as they lost their composure and resilience in averting all the attacks being posed at the by the home side. Arsenal did not hesitate to get back on level terms as they registered their first goal of the day through an assist by Bukayo Saka and a sweet finish by Kai havertz on the 58th minute.

Two minutes after the equalizer, Mikel Arteta initiated three changes, introducing Martinelli, Trossard and Merino for Sterling, Jesus, and Jorginho respectively. These changes made the difference as Bukayo Saka linked up Martinelli for the second goal and providing the lead for lead for the first time in the game.

Tomiyasu was finally subbed on for Thomas Partey and after two minute of the change, Bukayo Saka made good use of the sloppy play at the heart of defense for Southampton which increased Arsenal’s lead to 3 goal on the 88th minute.

This impressive performance by the team was driven by some outstanding individual brilliance displayed by Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz in the attacking face of the Arsenal team.

In the post-match press conference, Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta when asked about the phenomenal attacking style of football by Bukayo Saka which aided Arsenal to steal all three points from Southampton responded by iterating that, “don’t forget about Bukayo Saka’s age. There are the stats and you cannot get away from that and what he’s doing at his age is unbelievable.”

Mikel Arteta further addressed the question about his thought on Kai Havertz’s equalizing goal and the superb performance he put-up on the day, “Kai Havertz is working hard every day because he wants more. He is not satisfied.

“There is still another level from him. He is surrounded by incredible players but something has changed in him. You really sense that confidence in him,” Arteta added.
