AFC Champions League: Neymar Jr Suffers A Hamstring Injury In Al-Hilal 3-0 win Over Esteghlal FC

Neymar de Santos Jr was subbed off after he had sustained a hamstring injury on the 58th minutes of normal time played.

The Brazilian and Al-Hilal versatile winger, Neymar regaining his full match fitness after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which kept him on the sidelines close to a year; his first start for his club has seen him fall back to injury.

In Al-Hilal AFC Champions League round of four match against Iranian top-flight club, Esteghlal FC, Neymar Jr had to force the coach to initiate a substitution as he sat on the field complaining to the medical staff about some pains in his right thighs after thirteen minutes after the inception of the second half.

As it stands, Neymar Jr is yet to be assed by the medical staff of Al-Hilal FC in order to ascertain the actual injury and for treatment processes to begin immediately.

Neymar Jr in his post-match interview had iterated that, “I felt like a cramp but very strong! I will do exams and hope it’s nothing more.”

He then added that, “It is normal for this to happen after one year, the doctors had already warned me. This is why I need to be careful and have more minutes to play.”

Meanwhile, the team never showed signs of disruption as they went to produce a convincing 3-0 victory against Esteghlal FC.
