Confederation of African Football (CAF) have officially announced Morocco as the 2025 AFCON champions, abiding to the new appeal judgement.
Days after the CAF appeal’s board had pronounced judgement, basing their ruling on CAF’s article 82 and 84, which identifies a team as the winner of game in which the opposition during normal time had decided not to continue with the game as exhibited by the Senegalese team during the 2025 AFCON Finale.
Today, on CAF‘s official website, Morocco has been identified as the champions whiles the initial winners have been named runners-up of the 2025 African Cup of Nations.
However, Senegal have registered their displeasure hence, have made headway to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), awaiting a final verdict of the while chaotic situation involving, Senegal, Morocco, and the mother football governing body of the African continent.
