Former Ghana Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has bemoaned the inhumane circumstances he faced as the leader of the team.
Asamoah Gyan, popularly known as Ghana’s baby jet on Thursday, January 2, 2025 took to his Instagram social media page were he lamented bitterly, fuming out what his tenure as the captain of Ghana’s men senior national team was characterized with.
He pointed out that, “… a child would gain a call-up into the national team, I’m the only player he wants to see, he can call his family members for them to have a conversation with me but after three days, this same person who was eulogizing me some few days ago would now despise me and not want to have an encounter with me because of what someone has said to him about me, why?
Further, Gyan now detailed out the actual cause which might be hindering the success of the Ghana Black-Stars as he recounted what transpired on the eve he netted his 50th goal which was a milestone.
“So for me, my time as the captain of the national team, I was alone. I only deliver on the field. I had the captain armband on my arm, because of brainwashing, people did not respect me as the captain as a result of people who had spoken ill about me to the kids [debutants] for them to be respected. Now when I left the national team, have you seen? And those children who were brainwashed at the time, they have regretted till now.”
The former Rennes and Sunderland center forward cleared the air indicating that, he has no bad with his successor, Andre Ayew so people should desist from thinking that, he is not in talking terms with the current skipper of the Ghana Black-stars.
