Medeama FC and fellow Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Nations FC have both secured qualifications into the next round of the MTN FA Cup after a crunchy tie against Samartex 1996 and Swedru All Blacks respectively in the most delightful fashion.

The most revered domestic cup competition in the Ghanaian football space is gradually shaping up as the boys are being segregated from the men in the most iconic fashion. On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Obuasi based club, Medeama did not leave any stones on turned as they swept aside the immediate past winners of the Ghana Premier League.
It was a game involving two sides who had what it takes to book a spot in the next stage of the competition however, after normal time of action, it balled down to the spot kicks which went in favour of the yellow and purple boys.
On the flip side, the Kumasi based club, Nations FC at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex sealed a qualification within normal time as they edged past Swedru All Blacks in a 2-1 victory – goals scored by Boahen Asante and Joseph Effah charged Nations FC into the next stage of the competition.
Today, five MTN FA Cup games have been scheduled to take place in respective stadia – Asante Kotoko would host Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports stadium, Berekum Chelsea is set to face Division-One side Tamale City whiles Dreams FC would be at home to Inter Allies at the Tuba Astro Turf plus, Techiman Liberty will also play against Real tamale United and finally, True Life would play against GPL side Heart of Lions.
