Medeama FC set sights on MTN FA Cup Trophy – Coach Tanko reveals

Meadeama FC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has communicated his team’s intentions to clutch the 2026 MTN FA Cup trophy as they book qualification into the quarter finals of the competition.

Two days ago, Medeama FC exhibited their interest to progress into the next stage of the competition as they brushed away fellow Ghana Premier League side Samartex FC. The Obuasi based club had the slight edge to win against the former GPL winners on a 4-2 penalty shootout.

During Coach Ibrahim Tanko‘s post-match interview with the press, in response to a question from a journalist regarding his expectations as he books a spot in the last-eight, “in an MTN FA Cup, we are taking each game very serious.”

He further iterated, “we are now in the last eight, if we want to win – definitely we have to beat any team that comes our way.” These reactions highlighted the intentions of Medeama FC in securing the ultimate.

Meanwhile, top clubs like Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have slipped off in the competition in the most embarrassing fashion hence, obviously making Medeama, Aduana Stars, Attram Divisie and Dreams FC possible candidates to win this years MTN FA CUP trophy.
