In an intelligence led operations by the Oti Regional Police spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Alex Acquah, who is the Regional Commander have arrested a truck driver smuggling suspected narcotics products.
The DAF long-trailer with vehicle registration number GW 1943-09 had been modified with six undisclosed metal plate chambers beneath its axle. After the Ghana Police Service had conducted a thorough probe in the presence, secret spots were discovered loaded with brownly covered solution-tapes.
Now, the truck driver, identified as Amidu Jubril (40), had concealed 4,000 parcels of neatly compressed dried leaves wrapped hidden in the safe haven created for the vehicle.
Immediately, the Police impounded the truck and seized all the exhibits for evidence while Amidu Jubril, the suspected drug smuggler was detained in order to assist the investigative body.
The Commander of Oti Region, DCOP Alex Acquah assured the residents of the Police’s commitments to ensuring that all culpable drug peddlers involved in this case will be made to face the law.
