Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou recounts some factors which impeded his quest to win laurels during his stint with the North London Premier League club.
Australian manager, Ange Postecoglou during an interview on a show dubbed ‘Stick to Football’ expressed the numerous ingredient he had requested in order to aid him roll out his plans which will yield the positive results yearned by Tottenham Hotspur.
The 60-year-old Premier League manager iterated that, after his first season with the club, administrators of Tottenham Hotspur refuted to provide him with the sort of materials he needed.
“Tottenham Hotspur is not a big club, … at the end of my first year, when we finished fifth, for me, okay, how do you go from fifth to really challenging times? Had to sign Premier League ready players – finishing fifth didn’t get us Champions League, we don’t have the money so we ended up signing Dominic Solanke and I really like him and other three teenagers.
“You know, I was looking at Pedro Neto, Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo at the time and Marc Guehi because I said, if we are going to go from fifth to there, that’s what the other big clubs do at that moment – and those three teenagers are outstanding young players,” Ange said.
