Karim Benzema has thrown his support behind Saudi Arabia in their quest to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) as they are mandated as an institution in charge of organizing the most significant competition in world football which sort create an avenue for the best footballing countries to come fight for the ultimate have been urged by Karim Benzema to consider handing over the hosting right to Saudi Arabia for the 2034 World Cup.
In the former Lyon and Real Madrid’s center forward, Karim Benzema’s utterances, he claimed that Saudi Arabia as a country is undertaking some highly impressive football policy by their football federation, which is having positive effects and improving on the standards of the premier league and the lower tier leagues in the country.
Therefore, Benzema iterated that, in his own opinion, Saudi Arabia as a country is investing enormous resources in constructing structures which will propel football into higher height which is one criteria for which he believes FIFA should take a look at and consider giving Saudi the baton to host the World Cup in the next ten years.
“I think Saudi football is changing. I believe that in 10 years, Saudi Arabia will be ready. I think (football fans) will be surprised by the passion of Saudi fans at every match. To understand, you have to come and attend a match. I think the world will be surprised by Saudi fans,” he said.
Karim Benzema further added that, individuals across the globe should squash their primitive ideas of what Saudi Arabia is made of and should rather begin to embrace all the good things the Saudi culture is all about.
“People who have preconceived notions about Saudi Arabia need to come and see for themselves. There are incredible things and iconic places. The people are welcoming. You feel great here. It’s a country to discover. There’s so much to do. It’s not just the desert, even though in the desert there are also amazing things to experience. You have to come and visit Saudi Arabia.”
More so, the center-forward for Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad FC, Karim Benzema has joined the long list of football patriots who are rooting for Saudi Arabia to be picked as the country to host the 2034 World Cup.
