The Parliamentary Candidate for Suhum Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, Frank Asiedu Bekoe has denied accusations of being involved in any illegal mining activity popularly known in Ghana as galamsey.
Mr Frank Asiedu Bekoe speaking in an interview with an Accra based media house, TV3 on their morning show dubbed, NewDay, when asked about why the constituents in Suhum are screaming his name of being a kingpin in the illegal mining of gold in this country; he argued that, Suhum as a constituency does not engage in any form of mining practices and therefore, he has absolutely no idea of the allegations being directed at him by his constituent.
“I am saying it is not true because we do not even mine in Suhum, we don`t mine. Roland, we don`t even mine in Suhum but I have condemned galamsey, I have condemned it already so now I am moving forward on what to do,” he stated.
Mr Frank Asiedu Bekoe then added that, the Suhum Constituency deserves someone who can lobby in order to attract developmental projects and put in measures which will present job opportunities for the good people of Suhum.
“Suhum needs a leader who will be able to move through heaven and earth to ensure that what the good people of Suhum needs they attend to them. I have supported a lot of people in this constituency,” he concluded.
