Pyramids are on a revenge hunt as they seek to humble undefeated Esperance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League Group D fixture.
Tunisian topflight league giant, Esperance de Tunis are set to make a second leg returning fixture in Group D as they visit Pyramids at their home venue, 30 June Stadium in Egypt’s capital Cairo.
The round-4 batch of group stage games in the CAF Champions League on Sunday, January 5, 2025 is set to have the top two best placed teams in Group D, Pyramids being served the opportunity to hunt down Esperance de Tunis, which is the only side in Group D that has not tasted any form of defeat after playing three group games.
Now, Esperance de Tunis are gearing up to the game with their best foot forward as they stand a chance of booking automatic qualification into the knockout face of the CAF Champions should they succeed in bagging all three points in today’s game just as they did in mid-December last when they defeated Pyramids by 2-0.
Meanwhile, Pyramids stands the chance of sharing same points with top of the table team, should they play their best game today and clutch all three points after the end of ninety-minutes plus added time.
Analysis on both teams:
Pyramids in their last five competitive games in all competition have been quite decent with their performances; they managed to win three, drew one and lost one. In that same vein, Pyramids have scored five goals and also conceded three as well in their last five matches.
On the other hand, Esperance de Tunis have not lost even a game in their last five games however, they drew two and won three – registering eight goals and conceding just two which is very impressive.
Predictions:
The visiting side, Esperance de Tunis have scored more than a goal in their last three away games hence, I’m tipping them to at least scored a goal plus, they have all it takes to win the game however, their worst result would be a draw.
More so, Pyramids as the home side in their last two games at home have not conceded and have scored have goals in total; clearly, they are a free scoring side when they play at their own back yard especially with the number twelve men behind them. I tip Pyramids to score a goal or at their best, pick up a point or pull up an astonishing 2:1 win over Esperance de Tunis.
