Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams has slammed the leaders in charge of Ghana’s football administration for their failure to see to the success of the various national team.
The renowned sports journalist who presently works for the Angel media group, Adam Saddick on his social media platform, today, November 18, 2024 has shared his frustration and call-out the leaders at the helm of affairs, who have the mandate to steer the direction of matters surrounding Ghana‘s progress in football.
In his social media post, he indicated that, the pedigree of Ghana’s football is being wash down the drain as a result of the insignificant decisions the leaders at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the officials who have the mandate of leading the senior men’s football team have been deploying which have always yielded little or no results in the last five years as the team is no longer grinding the needed results whenever they are out to compete.
Mr Saddick Adams claimed that, “in any other African country with a quarter of the history of Ghana’s football, the entire board of the FA and the Black Stars officials would have resigned or be forced to resigned.”
He then asserted that, Ghana as a country lacks credibility and and have to create a structure which measures the level of output required from any individual who has been handed any form of responsibility and what reward should be meted out when at any given time frame for the success of the work is to be determine. Saddick iterated, “But this is a Ghana without any standards.”
Delving deep into the subject matter, the Ghana Black Stars in the last five years have been three outing in two different tournaments. They have been at two African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and one FIFA World Cup.
For the very first time in the history of the four time AFCON winners, Ghana have failed to progress in their last two AFCON tournaments and the worse case is, can only boast of no wins in those appearances plus, they flattered to deceive in the last FIFA World Cup, in 2022, hosted by Qatar.
In the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, Ghana in a group with Angola, Sudan, and Niger, have failed to even clutch a win after five games played. They are the third best placed team in the group only above Niger, who are the fourth team. Ghana are left with just a game to spare in their AFCON qualifying campaign.
