Ghanaian football pundit and coach, Christopher Nimley has chastised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for providing buses which are not fit for purpose.
Coach Christopher Nimley speaking as a regularly pundit in the Mallam Goal sports podcast on Saturday, November 23, 2024 fumed bitterly regarding the Ghana Football Association’s quest to fulfill the manifesto promise as iterated by the then incumbent and presidential candidate of the football association, Mr Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku.
He asserted on the fact that, the buses provided to the clubs who made the cut to be awarded with a new bus must be weeping with immense sorrow since the president of the association in his view did exactly the irony of the kind of buses he would make available to the respective clubs.
“Yes, we can talk about the intention and the timing was also wrong. If you are coming to give people (clubs) buses too, what! If you are not a murderer? I will not put myself and my family in that bus.”
Further, Coach Christopher Nimley questioned the processes for the acquisition of the buses for the various clubs and why the buses were not in good shape at the time it was being presented by the FA president Kurt Okraku to the club representatives.
“Kurt Okraku, would you ask your family, your wife and your children to sit in those buses? …that bus is ‘killing me quick’, kill me quick, accelerating the killings of peoples children. I am telling you honestly. Why would you do that?”
The hos of the program, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo further probe for details, “are you saying the buses are death traps?”
“Fentuo, that’s what I am saying. Look, it is not about the engine and the interior decorations, did you see the breaks? As if they were being wielded together, they were patched up. If you are not a murderer, you would not do that.”
Fentuo as the host attempted to direct the choice of words Coach Nimley used in describing the FA president, Kurt Okraku only for coach to respond that, “no, no, no, you kill my wife, Akua, and my three beautiful daughters, I slaughter you immediately.”
Coach Nimley alleged that, one of the buses presented to the clubs failed to motion in a short distance, “one of the buses couldn’t move from Accra to Sankara. When you were standing in front of Joy FM, the bus was moving in an unbalanced form.”
