Madagascar are set to face Group I leader, Ghana in a make or break affair tonight in a home from away game.
In Ghana’s quest to make their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup 2026, they are scheduled to fight for the three maximum points against an under-dog who are in good form in recent national football games.
However, the question now pops up, is Madagascar having what it takes to pick up any decent result against a known football nation such as Ghana in a crunchy game which has the potency of determining who makes it automatically into the next world Cup.
As things stand in the group, after five games played in the group by each side, Ghana can boast of twelve valuable points which is enough to keep their qualification hopes alive. Meanwhile, Madagascar have also bagged ten points which makes them the second best placed side in Group I.
Clearly, Ghana would be seeking to further extend their lead to fifteen points which positions them in a very good place so long as the qualification metrics are concerned whiles Madagascar would also be hoping to cause an upset by picking up all three maximum points which takes them to the top of the table with thirteen points.
The stakes are very high both sides as they face each other tonight, on the flip side, other teams like Mali, Comoros and Central African Republic be seeking to have both side end their game in either a shared point result or Ghana dropping all three points since that increases heir chances of getting back into the qualification conversation.
Now, the last five previous meeting of Ghana and Madagascar in any competitive game has ended in two wins for both teams and a shared points gam. Clearly, this is a game of pretty much equal sides in terms of their quality on the field therefore, the game will be decided with the little details and the most efficient side on the night.
