James Milner bags 3 enviable Guinness World record awards

James Milner etch his name in English Premier League (EPL) record books after remarkably making the most appearances in the top-flight, surpassing record holder, Gareth Barry.

Former Liverpool play-maker, James Milner has chalked new higher heights in his professional football career as he managed to make his six hundred and fifty-fourth appearances in the Premier League.

He achieved this feet after being handed the nod to play over the weekend against Brentford FC – summing up his performance over the weekend by aiding his side, Brighton and Hove Albion to secure a convincing 2-0 win.

In an official statement released by Guinness World Records announced, “congratulations to James Milner on achieving the most appearances in the English Premier League – 654 as of 21 February 2026.”

At age 40, the veteran versatile midfielder ply his trade with Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League – defying the natural norms which suggest that, with his age, the Physicality and the demands of the Prem cannot accommodate James Milner.

Guinness World Records presented an extra two awards, “in addition to this milestone, Milner was also presented with certificates for two further GWR record titles recognizing the extraordinary longevity in the competition.”
