Accra sports stadium would be the home venue for the two clubs from the Ghana Premier League set to participate in the CAF inter-club competitions.
The National Sports Authority have agreed to all terms to permit the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) winners and the FA Cup winners to respectively host their opponent club in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) games.
Now, the Bibiani based club, Bibiani Gold Stars FC would make their debut CAF Champions League campaign home game against JS Kabylie at the Accra Sports Stadium whiles Asante Kotoko would all not enjoy the number-12 man behind them at their usual home stadium, Baba Yara as they will face Nigeria side, Kwara FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In recent times, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah in his visit to the Baba Yara stadium had indicated that, the stadium was not fit for purpose hence, it would not have the approval from CAF’s inspection team in order to serve as the home venue for the Porcupine Warriors.
Now, the long-awaited chance for the porcupine Warriors to re-instate their greatness in African football is here again; the team would certainly rely on the experience and technical prowess of their coach, Karim Zito since he led Dreams FC into making history as they made it into the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation cup.
