In social media post today, Bayern Munich have announced the details of the injury sustained by their first choice left attacking full-back, Alphonso Davies.
German Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich have indicated that Alphonso Davies has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during an outing for his national team.
Alphonso Davies was subbed off in the CONCACAF nations league third place game between Canada and the United State of America on the 12th minute after he sat on the pitch, expressing immense pain in and around his thigh.
Further, Davies after the game had to return back to his club side, Bayern Munich for thorough test to be conducted on his injury situation. The aftermath of the test by the medical stuff have indicated that, he has torn his ACL.
Now, the skipper for the Canadian senior national team is set to undergo treatment which will keep him out for the rest of the 2024/25 footballing season.
The absence of Alphonso Davies is certainly going to be a big miss for Bayern Munich as they are currently eyeing the UEFA Champions League, the domestic league and the FIFA Club World Cup which will take place in the next couple of months.
