The England Football Association have named Chelsea’s youngster, Cole Palmer, 22, as the best player in the men’s category.
Cole Palmer among all the well established English footballers, from the likes of Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Kyle Walker, and Jordan Pickford, just to mention a few, had a resplendent footballing season with his club, Chelsea FC.
Digging in more, Palmer completed his move from Premier League Champions, Manchester City in the Summer transfer window, two seasons ago for a total transfer fee package worth $58 million. After the completion of his deal, he shared few words with Chelsea’s media, “I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good and because of the platform I will have to try to showcase my talent.”
In the 2023/2024 season which was his first campaign with Chelsea, Cole Palmer immediately out-doored himself proving why he commanded such an amount as a youngster through his week in-week out performances. He was an outstanding player and arguably the best player in the league in the face of all the set-backs the Chelsea team was experiencing.
He shipped in twenty-two goals plus eight valuable assist which was more than enough to secure Chelsea’s Premier League status. Further, the only player that out-scored him in terms of goals was Manchester City’s center-forward, Erling Haaland.
Meanwhile, in less-than seven 2024/25 premier league games played, Cole Palmer can already boast of eleven goal contributions.
Even though many would argue that, he failed to make any positive impact in England’s participation at the Euro tournament which they were the second best team on the finale against the Spanish national team, which is a much better side as compared to the English team.
However, the England Football Association have elected Cole Palmer as the best men’s player of the 2023-2024 football year ahead of all the thousands of English players who had a decent season last year.
