English Premier League Round 22 fixtures, preview and analysis

English Premier League bounces back this weekend as match-week 22 would be served with all the sweet juice across the world.

Last weekend was entangled with English FA Cup matches hence, the Premier League was suspended temporarily and the weekend is here again. This weekend, English topflight would inception from Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Further, five batches of league games would take center stage on tomorrow which will be covered by the certified media right holders across the globe.

Fixtures for Saturday:

Newcastle United v Bournemouth – 12:30pm

Brentford v Liverpool FC – 15:00pm

Leicester City v Fulham FC – 15:00pm

West Ham United v Crystal Palace – 15:00pm

Arsenal FC v Aston Villa FC – 17:30pm

Preview and analyses of the Saturday set of games:

Newcastle United would host in form AFC Bournemouth at their home venue, Saint James’ Park as an early kick-off game. It’ll be a game of two teams who are poised up to pick up the three maximum points at any glimpse opportunity that pops-up in the game since both sides are more or less matched up in terms of their recent splendid team performances.

Brentford v Liverpool FC

The Brentford Community Stadium is the venue set to host the Mersyside club, Liverpool in a crunchy game of much relevance. Liverpool would be on the road as they visit inconsistent Brentford at home.

Top of the league, Liverpool would seek to extend his points margin whiles Brentford can’t afford to pick up a defeat against Liverpool since that would further deepen their woes of getting out of the first half of the league table and can go a long way to quench their chances of playing Europe next season.

Leicester City v Fulham FC

Ruud van Nistelrooy since joining Leicester City as their manager has not really made any huge positive impacts on his sides performance and the results they need so badly as week-in-week-out they continue to derail their chances of staying in the Premier League.

Now, they will host Fulham FC at the King Power Stadium which is a must win for them. Leicester have all four of their last four Premier League outings as Fulham can also boast of two wins out of their last five matches.

In addition, Leicester City would not have their best attacking right-winger, Fatawu Issahaku and the likesof Wilfred Ndidi, Opoku, Pereira, and Hermansen who are all significant members of the squad.

Same as Fulham FC they also miss just a hand full of their players, Reiss Nelson and Tete due to injuries.

It is all up for grasp, the team who yearns for all the three maximum points the most will definitely clutch it.

West Ham United v Crystal Palace

At the London Stadium on Saturday, West Ham United would seek to reignite their sinking season as they face Crystal Palace, a side that is also picking up the season in order to stay in the Premier League.

Even though West Ham United’s campaign has been characterized with many factors, which injuries have been the main component which is affecting the team’s performances in every league game they have played this season; they will have to find a way of picking up the much valuable points in this game against Crystal Palace who have also lost one of their key central defenders, Trevoh Chalobah.

Arsenal FC v Aston Villa

The last game of the day would be Arsenal FC playing against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at the Emerates Stadium. Arsenal would certainly look at the league table and still count themselves as league contenders as they are just four points behind league leaders.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa who are currently sitting on the 7th position with 35 points would prefer not to loose even a point in this game as a win for them will further push them up into a more comfortable place as they seek to book a spot in any of the European competition next season.
