Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially crackdown on Hohoe United FC, charging the club with significant breaches of the league’s governing regulations following their abrupt exit from the 2025/26 season.
The GFA Prosecutor issued the charges on today, April 9, 2026, specifically citing violations of Article 13(1) and Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Ghana Premier League regulations, 2025. Plus, this new development comes as a direct response to what the association describes as a withdrawal “without just cause.”
GFA’s disciplinary action centers on two primary allegations that could have a long-term consequences for the Volta-region based club:
1. Withdrawal Without Just Cause: Under Article 13(1), the GFA alleges that the club failed to provide a valid and justifiable legal or regulatory basis for abandoning the domestic competition mid-season.
2. bringing the Game into Disrepute: Article 34(6)(d) focuses on the conduct of Hohoe United. The GFA contends that the manner of the withdrawal and subsequent public statements have tarnished the image of Ghanaian football.
