The Ghanaian football administrator, Eric Alagidede has bemoan the bad practices adopted by Ghana Premier League (GPL) clubs at the administrative level which is hindering progress in the league.
After recently resigning from Division-one league side, Accra Great Olympics earlier this month, Eric Alagidede revealed the unfortunate administrative lapses in most clubs.
“Most of the clubs over here, even if we are to use our two biggest clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, per the regulations that we use to run our football, all clubs at the premier league level are supposed to have a functional board.
“Are the boards of the various clubs functioning?” He bewailed, whiles further citing his personal working experiences with an undisclosed club he worked with,”… I worked in a club and I never saw the board for a year and a half that I was in the club. I only know the members by their individual names. The board never met in the year-and-half.
“Actually, as the general manager for a club, at least, you must come once in awhile and brief the board, either at the beginning of the season or at the end of the season. So if the season is about to start, I need to come with my budget for the season and justify it before the board as to why I need two million Ghana Cedis to be able to run the season,” he stated.
