Ghanaian sports journalist Ebo Appiah has critiqued the lapses involving the passage of Ghana Sports Fund into a law which seeks to serve as the major source of funding for sports in Ghana.
Delivering his submission with regards to the recent bill passed into law, dedicated to serve as the primary source of funds for the development of all sports infrastructures and development.
“… after the World Cup, all this euphoria about the Sports Minister will come back to ground zero – he will see his smoothness level.” Adding that, “no one will talk to him [Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams] – I am telling you on authority.”
Ebo Appiah asserted his views, further suggesting that, the upcoming FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in June this year has become the primary catalyst attracting individuals and the corporate world to make donations to the fund, “the World Cup is attracting people to donate.”
Plus, he alleged with no evidential facts that, “after the World Cup no one will talk to the Sports Minister. From now until the World Cup, we will get people donating, after the World Cup, call me back into this studio in December and then you will see.
“… I am putting my credibility on the line, I am talking from experience, that after the World Cup, the minister will see his smoothness level.”
Ghana would make their fifth appearances at the world biggest sports tournament set to be co-hosted by three countries, United States of America, Canada and Mexico later this year.
