The Ghana Football Association (GFA) as the lead appointing authority for the national team coaching job has officially announced the reappointment of Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz as new Black Stars manager.
Now, the Ghana Black Stars had legally cut ties with Carlos Queiroz barely six weeks past after both parties had exhausted their working relationship based on their initial contract – which was a relatively short-term contract.
With the introductory contract of Queiroz duly exhausted after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ghana senior soccer national team had been without a head coach up until today.
In an official communique released via the Ghana Football Association website indicates that, the appointing officials are well delighted to have reached an agreement with their former employee.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Carlos Queiroz for his appointment as Head Coach of the Black Stars for the next phase of the team’s programme,” the letter stated.
Meanwhile, it is imperative to highlight that, the official letter announcing Carlos Queiroz as new Head Coach of the Ghana Black Stars did not outline the contract-terms regarding the time duration of the partnership.
However, the letter cited the vast knowledge and experience Carlos Queiroz possessed as he walks back into the dug out as the newly appointed manager of the senior national team of Ghana.
“The GFA believes Queiroz’s extensive international experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the Black Stars position him strongly to lead the team into this next chapter,” the stated revealed.
Further, the Black Stars next battle will be to engaged in a high-stakes African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers – a duo fixture involving neighbor Ivory Coast and Gambia.
