Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) have withdrawn David Coote’s refereeing license.
The English premier league would seized to catch even a glimpse of referee David Coote in any of their games as the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) as an organ who have been mandated with the potency of providing referees for officiating games in the Premier League have sacked him for his off the field actions which are deemed as breach of conduct.
Referee David Coote has been slapped with multiple breaches of conducts, culminating in a significant public controversies. In a video which was circulating on various social media platforms on November 11, 2024, saw David Coote fuming derogatory comments about Liverpool FC and their immediate past manager, Jurgen Klopp which led to his initial suspension by the PGMOL.
Plus, David Coote after few days of his suspension had another video of him being leaked on to the socials, which was displayed an action of him snorting a whitish powder in a hotel room during the 2024 Euros tournament.
Therefore, on the backdrop of these misconduct by David Coote, the PGMOL on December 9, 2024, issued a letter which indicated that, Coote would no longer play any further part in the act of officiating games in the English premier league.
“Actions were found to be serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable. Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare,” the PGMOL asserted.
