Chelsea FC after showing many of their the exit door from the club in the just ended transfer window; many of their players who were informed to get themselves their preferred choice of clubs failed to move from the club due to the closure of the transfer window.
However, players such as Ben Chilwell who had many challenges with their injury situation and their inability to stay fit for games had to be sidelined from the Chelsea main team and hence, trained on their own away from the senior team.
Further, Ben Chilwell who even before the inception of the 2024/25 footballing season was informed by the team’s new manager, Enzo Maresca that he does not qualify to have a spot in the team due to the kind of formation the team will be playing with and therefore Ben had to move to another club that needed his services.
The decision to send the English left-back out of the team did not materialize since Ben Chilwell failed to find himself a club that needed his services. That not withstanding, Ben Chilwell is still under contract with the London base club.
Enzo Maresca has rescinded his decision to oust Chilwell from the matchday squad as he has named him as part of his squad list for Chelsea’s round three Carabao Cup game against League Two side Barrow FC.
Meanwhile, sources in the team have disclosed that, Enzo Maresca is getting prepared to reintegrate Ben Chilwell into the main team of Chelsea.
