Afcon Qualifiers: Coach Otto Addo Names 25 Players for Sudan Clash

In Ghana’s quest to secure a spot in the next African Cup of nations (Afcon) are in preparation to face-off the Sudan national team in a qualifying home and away game in the upcoming international break.

Today, 4th October, 2024 at exactly 1:00pm held a press briefing for the out-dooring of qualified Ghanaian players whom he deems fit for the qualifying match against the Sudan national team.

Below are the list of players who had call ups:

Goal-Keepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi ( FC ST. Gallen), Jojo Wollacot (Crawley Town), Fredrick Asare (Asante Kotoko).

Defenders: Isaac Afful (FC Samatex), Alidu Seidu (Rennes), Gideon Mensah (Auxerre) , Tariq Lamptey (Brighton And Hove Albion), Salisu Mohammed (Monacco), Alexander Djiku (Fenerbache), Abdul Mumin (Rayo Vallecano), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), and Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor).

Midfielders: Thomas Partey (Arsenal), Elisha Owusu (Auxerre), Kudus Mohammed (West Ham), Majeed Ashimeru (R.S.C Anderlecht), and Ibrahim Sulemana ( Atalanta).

Forwarders: Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Jordan Ayew ( Leicester City), Abdul Fatawu Isshaku (Leicester City), Ernest Appiah Nuamah (Lyon), Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Joseph Painstil (LA Galaxy), Barndon Thomas-Asante (Coventry City), and Ibarhim Osman (Feyenoord).

These are the players who have gained call-ups for the Ghana national team however, the Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew is still missing out of the team with no details provided for his omission while Kamaldeen Sulemana is also not part of the squad due to injury.
