The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has adjudge Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi as the Men’s Best Player of the year.
“In a sky full of stars, one outshines them all! his, Him. Hakimi. Player of the year,” CAF’s way of announcing the most deserving player amongst the nominees for the Best Player of The Year clearly tells it all.
Today, November 19, 2025, after 52 years since this award had been won by any defender, a versatile right-full back who currently plays for French Ligue-One side, Paris Saint-Germain and proudly represents his motherland whenever he’s called upon has been crowned as the best player of the entire continent of Africa.
Further, this deserving award to Achraf Hakimi paints the efforts, hard work and investments being made by the Moroccan Football Association in their quest to provide an avenue for every young lad who has the passion, interest and talent for the game of football.
“This award is not just mine, it is for every id who dreams big in Africa, We can all rise if we work hard,” Hakimi iterated after being named the Best Player of the continent.
Achraf Hakimi’s 2024/25 season:
Arguably, the 2024/25 footballing campaign has been one of the best seasons for the Moroccan star.
Achraf Hakimi had been one of the most influential players for Paris Saint-Germain in the last three seasons however, the immediate past season experienced another level of Hakimi, who’s surging runs and final pass into the attacking third had improved drastically, defensively, he was decent, during important games where the his club needed any the players to standout, he showed up in style.
Paris Saint-Germain in their last season campaign succeeded in sweeping home all domestic trophies in the French Ligue-One plus, clutching the enviable UEFA Champions League title in astonishing fashion as they thrashed Italian Serie-A side, Inter-Milan.
Additionally, his side managed to stun Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup final in order to steal the trophy back home.
The only blemish on the team’s season was their failure to win the FIFA Club World afer they made their way into the finals after showing no mercy to Spanish La-Liga giant, Real Madrid in the semis in order to book a final game against Chelsea which did not end well in their favor.
However, Paris Saint-Germain would look back at their last season’s campaign and applaud the hard work of Achraf Hakimi in the team.
