Who is Mr Joshua Awuah?
Born in Nima, a suburb in the capital of the Republic of Ghana by Ghanaian parents, hails from Ashanti Region. Journeyed through Ghana’s educational system however, failed to enroll himself into tertiary due to financial constraints by parents.
Mr Awuah in a chit-chat with MyNewsAnchor.com staff had revealed his passion for the game since his childhood days, “my love for football did not just start today, I was actually one of the best players for my school. You know, I used to even miss out on school just because I wanted to go play football games and trial matches all in hopes of one day securing my breakthrough but that did not happen,” Mr Joshua Awuah said.
Meanwhile, he also describe how he got himself into coaching, “One time, I had gone to play Right to Dreams first ever trial games, after the game, Mr Tom, who is the owner of the renowned academy did not fancy me as a quality player hence, did not pick me into his team.
“However, this did not stop me from going back to the academy on a daily basis. Upon my numerous visits to the camp, Mr Tom and his staff began to realize my passion for the game and that actually helped me to build a strong relationship with them
“I now decided to start my own juvenile team in the year 2004, and I named it Strong Tower. After sometime, due to my unpaid services that I rendered to Right to Dream, I had learnt how to identified talents unknowingly and that had aided me to be able to recruit quality talents into my team and that was how I managed to scout Mohammed Kudus, Majeed Ashimeru and the likes into my team,” Coach Ayoba stated.
Coach Ayoba explained further how he navigated his way into getting Majeed Ashimeru and Kudus in the early stages of his coaching career, “Look, I would not deceive you, it was quite difficult but then, I cannot blame their families soo much because they couldn’t have just given me their children on a silver plater.
“For Mohammed Kudus, when I approached the family, they were very reluctant in releasing their child to me but then, Kudus himself knew what he wanted at such a young age hence, he made himself available to me at all times especially for training and games.
“And in Majeed’s case, it wasn’t that difficult because he literally had nothing doing and for him as a young boy, playing football was the only option and yeah, by God’s grace, things worked out.

“One thing that also helped me was, I picked majority of my talents from the vicinity that I resided, which was Nima hence, bring them together was not difficult because they could easily relate to me.”
